Day 35: The Esquire Tavern

Spend Thirsty Thursday at The Esquire Tavern for a taste of San Antonio history! This downtown tavern has been serving drinks to locals since they first opened their doors in 1933 on Repeal Day, a day which celebrated the end of America’s 13-year-long alcohol prohibition. Lauded as the oldest bar in San Antonio and holding the title of the longest bar in Texas, The Esquire is a venue of untouchable historic significance and has many remarkable tales to tell.

It is located along the Riverwalk with outdoor seating to take in the beauty of Downtown San Antonio. They also offer a chef-driven food menu and Happy Hour that includes $1 off cocktails, $1 off draft beer and wine, and 20% off all mezcal Monday-Friday from 2pm-5pm.
