Day 224: Enchanted Rock

This massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas has drawn people for thousands of years, but there’s more here than just the dome. Folks travel from all over to hike, backpack, camp, rock climb, picnic, bird, geocache, and stargaze.

Advanced reservations for day passes and overnight stays are required on weekends, school breaks, and holidays. While not required on weekdays, they usually reach capacity every day.

Tip: bring plenty of water with you to help conserve potable water in the surrounding community
